History

Erdoğan Metal, founded in 1987 as a family venture under the leadership of Fazlı Erdoğan, began its activities in the Karadeniz Ereğli district of Zonguldak, Turkey. Over time, Erdoğan Metal has continued its journey with facilities established in central industrial zones in Zonguldak, Hatay and Ankara, along with the companies born within its structure, achieving significant successes in production, supply and logistics areas for the iron and steel industry.

The primary field of activity of these facilities, the first of which was established in 1997, was slitting - cutting (Steel Service Center) of flat steel products. Subsequently, Erdoğan Metal continued to provide high quality products and services for numerous domestic and international projects in the field of galvanized steel production and assembly for transportation safety, energy and construction sectors.

In 2009, Erdoğan Metal established its central factory in the Zonguldak Karadeniz Ereğli Organized Industrial Zone, covering a total area of 37,000 sqm, including 10,000 sqm of indoor and 27,000 sqm of outdoor space.

In 2011, Erdoğan Metal opened its second steel service factory in Hatay, Payas Organized Industrial Zone, covering an area of 5,000 sqm.

Since 2013, Erdoğan Metal, together with Akçelik A.Ş., another company within the group, started adding value in the construction sector. The company has completed many projects in infrastructure and superstructure contracting works for the General Directorate of Highways and Municipalities and has continued its activities with high-end residential projects in Muğla and Istanbul since 2018.

Açıkyol A.Ş., whose main activity is construction and iron & steel trade, completed the construction of a 1,000-bed male student dormitory building in Zonguldak Kozlu in 2017. The company, which aims to invest in the Zonguldak region, where the seeds of the group were planted, has completed various residential and commercial center projects in the Ereğli district and continues to gain attention and add value to the region with the Del Marin project initiated in the Kozlu district in 2023.

In 2020, by acquiring the other two companies of the group, İttifak Metal and Marka Yassı, through a company merger, Erdoğan Metal unites its companies in the flat steel field under one roof and continues its production in line with the most advanced international standards with a transparent, proactive, fast, corporate and equal service approach to all customers.

As a group of companies that has previously carried out rooftop solar system applications in different public and residential projects, has also commissioned its own rooftop solar power plants in 2022, with a total capacity of 1.6 mW to meet the electricity needs of Erdoğan Metal Kdz. Ereğli and Payas factories.
